Pacific Palisades Luxury Real Estate

Hollywood Hills

Pacific Palisades is a desirable neighborhood bordered by the Pacific Coast with a backdrop of the Santa Monica Mountains. Encompassing several natural canyons, this is a peaceful residential area between Brentwood, Malibu, Topanga and Santa Monica. Its unique history began when film director Thomas Ince created his film studio at what became known as Inceville. The land was later bought by Rev. Charles H. Scott who envisioned a religious community at Pacific Palisades. Tents were gradually replaced with more permanent structures and by the 1930s and 40s the area was a haven for European expats.

Neighborhoods gradually developed around the central Village, now the small central business district of Pacific Palisades with a weekly farmer’s market, boutiques, banks and independent shops. Sought-after communities include the Alphabet Streets north of Sunset Boulevard, Via Mesa nestled in Temescal Canyon, Huntington Palisades within walking distance of the Village, Palisades Highlands, Rustic Canyon with its weekend retreats at Uplifter’s Ranch, Marquez Knolls with outstanding ocean views, and the Pacific View Estates. Golfers will find the Riviera offers a desirable high-end country club lifestyle around the golf course which has hosted PGA Championships in the past. The most expensive real estate in Pacific Palisades are the upscale residences set in the hills and enjoying incredible ocean views.

The J. Paul Getty Villa Museum is a particularly noteworthy cultural gem in this area along with a plethora of parks offering recreational and sporting activities. Breathtaking natural views can be enjoyed at Topanga Canyon State Park, Will Rogers State Historic Park (of Baywatch fame), Rustin Canyon Park and Palisades Park to enhance the quality of life for local residents and visitors alike. Opportunities abound for hiking, swimming, surfing, volleyball, cycling and there is a running path along Will Rogers State Beach. The area retains its sense of community with events organized by the Chamber of Commerce such as the Fourth of July parade, fun runs and fireworks.
