Mid City Luxury Real Estate

Hollywood Hills

Mid-City, or Midtown as it is sometimes known, is one of Los Angeles’ top neighborhoods in the mid-Wilshire district just three miles east of Beverly Hills. Easily walkable, it attracts a young and hip clientele to its historic Silent Movie Theatre, one-of-a-kind restaurants and chic boutiques on Melrose Avenue. It crams in an exceptional variety of attractions including the CBS Studios and Ice Age Fossils at the Page Museum in the atmospheric Art Deco area. Museum Row also includes the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, giving the area exceptional prestige.

Founded as a collection of small neighborhoods, Mid City developed its own persona when A. W. Ross widened Wilshire Blvd to accommodate cars in the 1920s. Miracle Mile, as it became known, was revitalized in the 1990s and is now a haven for upscale restaurants, small law firms and publishing offices. Little Ethiopia is another neighborhood within Mid City, where cultural food, art and music are celebrated at the Cultural Street Festival. Those seeking a central address in this premier neighborhood will find prices higher than outlying areas, but the benefits include having everything right on their doorstep (no need to pay for pricey parking) and easy access to the Hollywood Freeway and Interstates 10 and 405. Retail therapy is a given with 160 designer stores at the Beverly Center, high-end department stores at The Grove and all things edible at The Original Farmers Market. Mid City isn’t a home; it’s a lifestyle.

Foodies will adore Mid City’s dining scene with restaurants competing to serve the best in every cuisine from Peruvian seafood to Southern soul food. From the hip Slow Fish Sushi restaurant on Wilshire Blvd to Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, there’s something for every mood and taste. Mid City locals mix comfortably with celebrities who venture into Mid City to enjoy intimate dining or live music in one of the bars. For nightclubs, locals have only to travel a short distance north to find themselves on Sunset Boulevard.
